Joy M. Tanji, Ph. D.
Dr. Tanji is completing a postdoctoral fellowship at HCWC. She grew up in Upcountry Maui and Windward Oahu. She views therapy as a compassionate and quiet space in which people can explore their personal stories and uncover new possibilities for growth and transformation. Her areas of clinical interest include couple/marital distress, relationship problems, family of origin issues, inner child work, grief/loss/bereavement, complex trauma, stress management, family counseling, life transitions, and issues that involve disharmonies between the mind-body-spirit.
Dr. Tanji comes from a multidisciplinary background in art, oriental medicine, and counseling psychology with a specialization in couple and family therapy. She is also a core faculty member with the Hawaii School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University.
