Christina Lu, Psy. D.

 

Dr. Lu works with clients of all ages through individual, couples, and family, therapy. Special areas of clinical focus include:  Depression, Anxiety, Trauma, Partner, Sexual Abuse, Family Conflict, Divorce, LGBT and Relationship Issues.  Dr. Lu has extensive training in couples and family work as well as emotion focused models. She has been trained at various organizations, including National Center for PTSD, Catholic Charities Family Services, Salvation Army Family Treatment Services, Tripler Army Medical Center, Queen's Medical Center, and University of Hawai'i Counseling and Student Development Center.

Additionally, Dr. Lu is an adjunct faculty member at Hawaii School of Professional Psychology.  

 

Dr. Lu strives to be compassionate and non judgmental in her work, partnering with the client to identify goals and providing support in achieving these goals so that they may live healthier, happier, and more productive lives. She approaches therapy with gentleness and empathy to help make sense of your emotional landscapes.  Her style of therapy is highly individualized, designed to empower and to enhance diverse life experiences.  She utilizes an integrative approach to growth and healing in therapy, incorporating relational and strength based methods actively tailored to the individual, couple, or family.

 

Her values guide her work, focusing on enjoyment of life through acceptance, humor and spontaneity; striving for authentic and healthy relationships; embracing creativity and change.
